I’m Chad Cox, your candidate for McCormick County Sheriff.
I bring 25 years of law enforcement experience and extensive administrative expertise to the Office, including budgetary and fiscal preparation and presentation. I have training in all areas of the Office, and possess the leadership qualities and abilities necessary to successfully manage every facet of the Sheriff’s Office. I have been promoted several times throughout my career; from overseeing a detention center, commanding a Narcotics Division, supervised Special Operations functions, to a participating member of a bloodhound tracking team.
Serving as second in command of the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office, afforded me the opportunity to run the Office in the Sheriff’s absence and train under his tutelage, to prepare me to be your next Sheriff. Sheriff Clarke Stearns believes in me and has publicly endorsed my candidacy.
I will continue to pursue every avenue to work together with our local, state and federal representatives to secure additional funding; including grants, awards, donations and fundraising.
I remain committed to working closely with Solicitors’ Offices to ensure that offenders are not repeatedly released into our community. We need to remain tough on crime, target all levels of drug distributors, and, especially- advocate for a full time Narcotics Investigator.
I am dedicated to increasing ways for community members and the Sheriff’s Office to partner and grow together for the common goal of protecting our great county. One main focus of mine will be to continue to build bridges between myself and members of the Sheriff’s Office with the public, tearing down walls and misconceptions between the Sheriff’s Office and public opinion. I will make myself available and schedule community forums to give updates of the Sheriff’s Office and our practices as well as entertain comments and ideas that members of the public may have or perceive. I need your input to enhance the exceptional law enforcement services you expect and deserve.
My vision is to serve you and prepare my staff, through “Train & Retain”, to become future leaders, providing premium law enforcement services for McCormick County residents.
